In The Spirit of Things: Ally Coll - working to end sexual harassment at work
Ally Coll is the President and Co-Founder of the Purple Campaign, a non-profit organization whose mission is to address workplace harassment. She is an attorney and a nationally recognized expert, thought leader, writer, and public speaker on gender equality in the workplace and the #MeToo movement. Her writing has been published in the Washington Post, Fortune, PBS NewsHour, Law360, Roll Call, Bloomberg Law, the Harvard Journal on Legislation, The Hill, and Jezebel. Prior to starting the Purple Campaign, Coll was a litigator in private practice in Washington D.C. where she also spent time on Capitol Hill as an aide in both the U.S. House and Senate. During the 2016 election she joined Hillary Clinton’s legal team in headquarters as the Deputy Director of Voter Protection, overseeing the campaign’s volunteer lawyer program and national Election Day operations. She earned her B.A. in History and Political Science magna cum laude from Tulane University in 2007 and her J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2016. While in law school, she served on the Board of the Harvard Women’s Law Association and as the Executive Policy Editor of the Harvard Law and Policy Review. She is also an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University, where she teaches civil rights law.
