Kathie is the winner of the United Nations Award for Communicating Priority Issues.
Kathie says, I'm on a mission to educate the helpers, healers and cultivators of hope about the radical history of Self Care. Only when the educators, the course creators and advocates speak of its back story will we build health literacy about Self Care.
We must not dismiss how generations of people: black, brown, women, LGBTQ, Victims of Domestic and Family Violence, the Mentally Ill, People with a Disability and the Aged have had Self Care used against them - You can't 'self care' your way out of oppressive systems.
We have to build a United Framework for Self Care - one that honours its radical back story and is about united healing:
We see you. We hear you. And are proud to stand alongside you.
